I know that proper English and writing skills are extremely valuable to becoming a successful student and well-rounded adult.  My plan is to incorporate fun, innovative writing projects and to teach grammar in an exciting way!  Our big writing projects are usually displayed in the junior high hallway.  I will use the 6-trait writing model for most writing assignments.  Students will be responsible for editing and revising their own work before typing or writing their final copy.  6th graders also have to do creative writing.  They are given journal writing prompts two days a week and are expected to write on that topic.  They will be given points for their effort.
